Adirondack Peeks Summer 2026

Jenny Lynn #16560, second from right, finished on Marshall almost 30 years after her first high peak. She was accompanied by her three 46er daughters. From left, Meg Hedrick #7855, Mouse Hedrick #8558 and Ella Hedrick #7946. Saeta, their Icelandic sheepdog, also made the celebratory trip. Jenny Lynn Meg Mouse Hedrick Ella Hedrick Hedrick Melissa DuQuette #16936 said, “It is only through the slow march of each footfall that I have uncovered the seasons of who I am. I have hungered, and thirsted, and fallen, and stumbled, and muddied, and submerged myself in a dedication to find me, to uncover. It is only through — the journey — that YOU, hand-inhand with yourself, are led back to you.” Melissa DuQuette Erica Loher #17029 was 7 years old in the early 1980s when her father, Jim Tansey #17031, took her up Mount Marcy. It took them three days. He carried a massive backpack, and Erica carried a tiny knapsack that felt just as important. They returned each summer to hike more of the peaks, including one epic quest to take on the Great Range that neither poor trail conditions, a torrential downpour, or bear trouble could throw off course. Their 46er journey was put on hold for more than a decade as Erica went to college and got started in her career. Both Erica and Jim hiked some peaks on their own during those years, but they both saved Cliff and Redfield so that they could finish together.
