New Team Drafts Code of Conduct A new Code of Conduct Policy that all volunteers for our various groups must review and sign was approved by the Board of Directors in January. It includes our Sexual Harassment Policy, with a required annual sexual harassment training course. It is the product of the Board’s new five-member Policy Committee, which worked throughout 2025 to review other organizations’ policies and state regulations, consulted with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and submitted the policy for review by an outside law firm. The committee will now write other policies including volunteer job descriptions, organization documentation policies, and an update to our bylaws. While three of the committee team members continue to serve on the board, Winn Rea and Brian Sutherland completed their director terms, yet they have agreed to stay on the committee to help complete some of those remaining projects. CLUB NEWS Congratulations for the great turnout for the first Wilderness First Aid training event held at Twin Valleys Education Center in Wadhams, NY, sponsored by the Adirondack 46ers and Champlain Area Trails (CATS). The 13 attendees received a certification in advanced skills to be used in emergencies. This is valuable information for use when the need occurs in the backcountry.
